Checking On Ratchet

After leaving Optimus and Moonstar in the Medbay; Flowerdancer walked a bit from the Medbay's entrance to Ratchet's room, she knew he was hiding the pain he felt, but being an Empath Flowerdancer knew. She waits a minute at Ratchet's door before touching the chime button.

Ratchet sat on his berth. He was spark broken. He had hoped that when Orion had his memories returned as Optimus that they could go back to the way things had been. But he knew that there was little chance of that now. He remembered how Optimus and Moonstar had been in the past but he didn't know how close the 2 had been till earlier when Moonstar came back. He had always wondered why Optimus would never bond with him and now he knew why. "I'm just an old medic, past my prime in life." He heard his door chime and says, "Come in." He tried to put on a normal face but that was hard for him to do.

Flowerdancer stepped into Ratchet’s room her wings were hanging loosely not stiff like the Prime she was this time though her step still echoed her pride as a Prime. She moves closer to Ratchet and says; “I came to check on you, Rach.” she reaches up wiping some tears from her mentor’s optics gently.

Ratchet looks up. "It's gonna take time Flowerdancer. I never knew how close those 2 had really been until Moonstar arrived. But I can't deny Optimus his happiness. We had a thing but I guess he forgot that when he was Varin and killed by Endymion in the 4th cycle. Now who will want an old Medic like myself? All I'm good for now is patching the others up when Megatron and them show up. I had hoped when he got his memories back that we would be together again and that we would finally bond but now I know why he never would in the past."

Flowerdancer sighs and says, "I know it will Ratchet. Optimus didn’t remember until now that he had a Bondmate; that part was blocked when he was killed fighting Unicorn. I’ve never seen him so happy. Yes I heard about that I think sadly it was destroyed when he was killed by Endymion. There are plenty out there Ratchet, and you’re not that old. You don’t remember this, but I know what you are going through, I lost Skyfire originally when I was 15; then a few other times I had lost him, but history is different now. You’re a good friend too Ratchet and an amazing teacher. I don’t know if it would’ve come back or not. Yes unfortunately it is why, he didn’t know until he caught Moonstar in his arms what was missing."

Ratchet nods. "Yes, it will. I know he didn't remember until now that he had a bondmate. I didn't know that part had been blocked when he was killed fighting Unicron. Yes, he is so happy. I think it was destroyed as well when he was killed by Endymion. I know there are many out there but none will be the same as Optimus. I feel old. You do? I didn't know that about you. Thank you, Flowerdancer. I don't know either. I had a feeling that is why. I see. Well now he knows what was missing and well now what I am missing." He sighs. "I hope I can find another good mech like Optimus is and maybe even a medic would be nice if possible."

Flowerdancer sighs and says, "I studied them while in the Medbay that is how I know. That is what matters. I couldn’t find that memory when scanning him earlier. That is true none will be the same is Optimus, he’s one-of-a-kind. Yes I do. Stargance says that only a Guardian who changed history can remember the timeline or timelines before history was changed and since I did I never have forgotten and never will. You are very welcome. Yes that’s what matters is he knows what he was missing, yeah; kind of how I remember you were when you learned that Skyfire had died when I was 15." She smiles softly and says, "I hope so too Ratchet maybe a mix of both would suit you, I have a friend who should be here in a few days, he’s bringing a group of survivors, and the perk is he is another Dimensional Guardian as well as being a medic and was once a long time ago a Prime."

Ratchet nods. "That makes sense to me. Yes, that is true. Well I guess it's gone for good then. Yes, I know that. Yes he is a one-of-a-kind. Ah that makes sense to me and well you are one of the few left. Yes, that's what matters the most now. Yes, I remember that." He smiles. "That would be nice too. Oh really? We always welcome survivors here. He is? That is interesting to hear and a medic as well? Oh wow. That is really something to know about him." His spark gave a hopeful blink.

Flowerdancer nods and says, "I’m glad it does. Unfortunately yes it is. Yes he is. I’m glad it does. Yes I am one of the few." She nods and says, "Yes really. Yes we do that’s why we are the Safe Haven Dimension. Yes he is. Yes and a medic as well. His matrix was destroyed saving his life, he was protecting his medic. The matrix saved his life; his medic trained him until he died in his sleep." After saying that she raises an eyebrow and she says, "Actually they are early; he called for me they are in our Medbay."

Ratchet smiles. "Of course it does. I was afraid of that. Of course it does. Yes, you've told me that you are of a few." He nods. "Yes, that is true and that we are the Safe Haven Dimension. That's good that he is and a Medic too. I can always use another Medic. That's sad to hear that his matrix was destroyed saving his life. I see. That's good that it did and that his medic trained him until he died in his sleep." He smiles. "Well lets go and greet them then. I don't mind that they are early."

Flowerdancer smiles and says, "We have always been. Yes it is he is and a medic. I know it is sad his matrix was destroyed to save his life. Yes it is good that it did and that his medic trained him until he died in his sleep." She smiles and guides him out of his room and into the Medbay where there was a group of Autobot Mechs and a single Femme standing there; one stood like a Prime Flowerdancer nods at him and says "That is Shadow Jumper he was known as Shadow Prime before he lost his matrix and Shadow Jumper was his name before he became a Prime." Shadow turns hearing a familiar voice and he says "Sorry we are early Flowerdancer, but I had to destroy our Dimension before as it was dying. We are what is left." Flowerdancer smiles and hugs him and says, "Welcome home."

Ratchet followed her to the medbay and smiles at the newly arrived Autobots and the Femme there. Ratchet says, "Welcome to the Ark. I'm Ratchet and the medic here." He smiles as the 2 hugged. He walks over. "Well now you have your home with us, Shadow. And you and your group are very welcomed here. I know Optimus will be pleased to meet you as well."

Shadow says, "Thank you. Yes Flowerdancer has told me about you I look forward working with you." He smiles and says, "Thank you. I’m glad we are welcomed here. I look forward to meeting him." Flowerdancer checks Optimus and says, "He’s in recharge right now."

Ratchet smiles. "You are welcome. I'm glad that she has and she's told me about you. I think we shall make a great team you and I." He smiles. "You are welcome. Of course you are. You will I promise." Just then Optimus' optics opened. His deep voice says, "I feel the presence of another Prime here. Well actually one who lost his matrix but has come here with survivors." Ratchet hit the button to open the chamber and he says, "Yes, you are right Optimus. This is Shadow Jumper, formerly Shadow Prime." Optimus comes out. "Welcome to the Safe Haven Dimension, Shadow. I am the leader of the Ark Autobots and you and your group are welcome to join our team."

Shadow says, "She has told me the good and bad stuff, it doesn’t bother me. I think we will too." The Seeker Mech moves closer to the polychromatic Prime and he says, "A pleasure to meet you, Optimus Flowerdancer has told me about you as well. I am known as Shadow Jumper, but I was once known as Shadow Prime. I was told I still feel like a Prime I am sorry if I woke you up," he pauses and nods at the Sword and says "A Knight Of Cybertron, that is an honorable position."

Ratchet nods. "I'm glad that she has told you the good and bad. I know we will." Optimus smiles. "I'm glad that she has told you about me as well. A pleasure, Shadow. Ah so it was you that I felt then. I am able to feel any former Primes and those like Flowerdancer and myself, current Primes. It's ok. I was close to being recharged when I felt you." He smiles. "Yes, I am a Knight of Cybertron. Yes, I know it is. There aren't that many of us left because most fell to the sword of Unicron. I fell to it as well. I was also killed in the 4th fairy cycle by a human when I was in my human form and reincarnated as Orion Pax, my first form before I got the Matrix of Leadership. I'm sorry you lost yours but it did save your life."

Shadow smiles and says, "Of course she has, I’m not only a Seeker I am a double-changer, I am also a Ground based Mech; I prefer this form more though." He smiles and says, "She has been a good friend. I prefer Shadow not my full designation. I’m glad you can; I lost my matrix to save my medics life, my matrix took the blast saving my life, my Medic trained me as one until he passed in his sleep. My team and I just arrived. He nods at the others near him and then introduces them." He says, "I recognize your sword. I am sorry there is not many left. He was my best friend I had to save him." He sighs, "Orion Pax was my medic’s name who trained me."
