Walking the Tables

Owain was in his office working on the list of those who would walk the tables that day. As always, it was a big celebration to the harper hall and he knew the cooks was preparing a terrific meal for the occasion. He was going through the ones who were to become Journeymen or women that day and the holds that had requested Harpers. He frowns as he came to one name. Akadeanna Hawk. He had been told by the masters that she was a dragonrider and needed to be assigned to the Weyr. He had already planned that for her before they mentioned it to him. He marked the Weyr next to her name and then went to the next name on the list. For some odd reason, he would look under his desk for no reason and sometimes thought he heard a voice that was tinny but he saw nothing and heard nothing. He was imaging things again. He would have to speak to Masterhealer Calvin about this but not till the walking was done.

Akadeanna was in her weyr that she and Skylar shared with their dragons, dressed in her Harper Blues, she had just finished oiling Denarath she was now putting the Ruby's newest riding gear on her, she glances at Skylar who was also tacking his Black Diamond. Skylar asks, "Are you nervous Akadeanna?" Akadeanna glances at her fiancé and she says, "Um the term is terrified on how I feel." Skylar smiles softly and says, "It will be fine Akadeanna; you know I'll be there and so will Servat & Travant." Akadeanna nods and says, "I hope so love. How are your lessons going?" Skylar smiles and says, "They say the next time around I will be ready to walk." Akadeanna nods and climbs up on to her Ruby careful not to jostle her sleeping companion and brushes her hand over her stomach which was just starting to show that she was carrying.

Owain finally puts his pen down as he had finally finished assigning the 8. 4 apprentices and 4 journeymen/women. He flinches as he felt something but he ignored it. He was just jittery, and nothing more. Calvin knocks on the door and Owain tells him to come in. Calvin takes one look at the Masterharper and knew something was wrong again. "Still hearing that voice and looking under your desk, Owain? I've run every test I can on you and everything says you are normal. Nothing wrong with you. One of the females who is walking today is also a healer. I think I will ask her to check you." Owain nods. "Its been getting worst today most of all. I can't understand why though. Of course. Have her come to my office as soon as she arrives." The healer left and finally Owain got up and bathed before getting dressed for the occasion. Calvin went to where the dragons would land to wait for Akadeanna. He was really worried about Owain.

Akadeanna glances to their adjoining weyr where Servat and Travant were preparing and nods at them seeing they were also all strapped in and she places Kero into her clothing to keep him warm and she gave the signal and all 4 Dragons took to the air and at the right height winked between. 3 seconds later 4 Dragons reappeared over the Harper Hall and Denarath gave a loud bugle announcing their arrival and the 4 Dragons land in the designated area. Akadeanna sighs and removes her riding helmet before dismounting Denarath and removes the ruby’s riding gear the 3 men also dismount and remove their Dragons riding gear as well. Then the 3 Dragons take to a place to get some sun.

Calvin watched as dragons arrived and deposited their passengers before leaving again, but he recognized the ruby when she landed. He walks over to the woman and says, "Akadeanna. Good to see you again. so you are walking the tables today finally. That is good. You have a great voice always said so. Would you mind coming and having a look at the Masterharper? There is something wrong with him but with all the tests I've run on him, they all come back normal. He complains of hearing voices and he's constantly looking under his desk like he dropped something or he's looking for something." He bowed to the men with her.

Akadeanna smiles and says, “Good to see you again Calvin. Yes I am finally walking the tables today; Skylar my fiancé there,” she pauses and nods at him and says, “Should be ready the next time around the Harpers back home say. Thank you very much. I wouldn’t mind at all. I’ll see what I can do for him. That isn’t good.” The 3 men nod their heads back to Calvin and Akadeanna says, “I’d like you to meet my other 2 companions Servat and Travant, they will be walking the tables soon themselves at the Healer Hall. Servat is the one with Silver eyes and Travant has the blue diamond eyes.”

Calvin smiles. "And you too, Akadeanna. I'm glad that you are." He nods. "Yes, Owain told me that he will walk next time. You are welcome. I'm glad you wouldn't mind and you will and see what you can do for him. Yes, I know it's not good." He smiles. "A pleasure gentlemen. Ah yes, they are on the list to walk the next time which is coming up very soon." He leads the way back inside and to Owain's office. He enters and says, "Owain. I have found and brought her. She's agreed to check you over and see what could be wrong with you." Owain started to get up to greet the new comers and fell flat on his face instead. Calvin says, "Akadeanna. This isn't good. I've never seen him like this. Its a good thing you have your healer supplies with you." He knelt down to the Masterharper and checked his pulse. "Not good. Its running rather higher than normal. I don't like this at all." He checked his pupils and other things and he shakes his head. "I don't understand this. He's getting colder by the minute. And this is even weirder. His eye coloration has changed color. Normally they are a pale blue? Now they are steel blue. I've never seen anybody's eyes change color like this or get this cold so fast. I've checked the archives and nothing like this is listed anywhere at all. I'm really worried now. Next thing you know, he'll grow wings or something like that."

Akadeanna smiles and says, “I’m glad that’s what he told you. Of course I’m a healer after all; I heard that I was the fastest to make to Master.” Servat says, “A pleasure to meet you as well Master Calvin.” Travant says, “Yes a pleasure to meet you as well Master Calvin.” Akadeanna smiles and says, “I’m glad they are, I know Tillie put it that they were to be assigned to Halloween as she had me write it as her handwriting is getting worse.” The 4 followed after Calvin, the 3 men took to near the door while Akadeanna went in further. Akadeanna frowns as Owain fell flat when he tried to stand up; Kerobaros sits next to Skylar near the door. Akadeanna says, “I never go anywhere without them.” She frowns at his words and then her sky blue eyes went wide at his words and she looks at Kerobaros and says, “Kero come here.” The large winged tiger stands up and stretches before walking to Akadeanna and he asks, “What is it?” Akadeanna nods at Owain and asks, “Is it him? Is it Yue? The symptoms are like the last time.” Kerobaros looks at the man and noses at him smelling him as he did look like Yue before he awoke, but he wasn’t sure and he sneezes before saying, “Yup it’s him.”

Calvin smiles. "Yes, that's what he told me. Yes, I know you are that's why I asked you. Yes, you were the fastest to make master." He nods to both men. He nods. "Yes, they are. Yes, I got that message and they will be." Calvin nods. "I'm glad to hear that you don't." Owain's eyes popped open at that moment and he glares at Kero. "Thanks for the snot bath Kerobaros. That's all I needed when I just took a bath. Sheesh." Calvin chuckles. "Is he always this grouchy when this happens?"

Akadeanna nods and says, “I’m glad he did. I’m glad you did. It came from my training so long ago in Cairo.” She smiles and says, “I’m glad, they are Riders as well as you saw which is another reason it was requested they were assigned to Halloween. I’m glad they will be.” She smiles and says, “Don’t know when I will need them, better to have them and not need them then need them and not have them.” Kerobaros chuckles at Yue and says, “That is that weird smell on you, you know I don’t like that scent.” Akadeanna chuckles and says, “He was worse the last time broke 3 vases.”

Calvin nods. "Of course he did. Of course I did. I'm glad to hear that. Yes, we all know about your past." He nods. "Yes, I saw that when you arrived here and I don't mind that at all. of course they will be." He nods. "That is so true. I agree. My bag is always with me as well." He nodded at his bag near Owain." Yue snorts. "Not my fault old friend. They use weird smelling soap here and it has that weird smell, not like you are used to." Calvin chuckles. "Oh, really. That really is something. I'm glad I had this chance to see this in my life time. I know that he and Kerobaros are as old as you are and the Yue is the Moon Guardian and Kerobaros is the Sun Guardian."

Akadeanna chuckles and says, “I remember you fainted when you learned that I was really that young Queen.” She smiles and says, “I’m glad you did, and that you don’t mind at all. I’m glad they will.” She chuckles and says, “The Maquis designed a way for my equipment to be on me without even looking like I do,” she pauses and indicates a side pouch and says, “All in there.” She nods at the bag and says, “Yup I see that.” Kerobaros goes to where Skylar was and picks up a bag he had set down and returns to Yue and says, “Here this smells better I asked Akadeanna to see someone about making it; I didn’t want to frighten the soap maker that’s why I had her do it, I slept in my Kero form on her shoulder when she did that.” Akadeanna chuckles and says, “Yes really, I know it is. It is always as amazing as the Fairy Princes and their Guardians awakening. Yes they are Clow Reed made them; actually the same day I was born they were; they are only 5 minutes younger than I am the same age as my brother Chakotay. Yes they are,” she pauses and pets Kerobaros’ right wing and says, “Kerobaros chose to find me because I am child of the sun.” She then helps Yue to his feet.
